The Gateway Pundit reports Dalton, Illinois Mayor Tiffany Henyard is under FBI investigation for allegedly abusing her power after shutting down businesses that did not donate to her campaign.
According to Dolton citizens, Henyard uses local police to target businesses that do not serve him.
She was also accused of stealing charity funds and even using taxpayer money for personal purposes.
No wonder residents call her “the worst mayor in America.”
A taxpayer-funded trip to Las Vegas in May 2023 that led to allegations of serious misconduct is also part of the investigation. This includes allegations that Henyard retaliated against officers who reported alleged sexual harassment by an aide and a village trustee.
Last March, Henyard reportedly vetoed an investigation unanimously approved by the Dolton Village Board over allegations that she misappropriated funds for a hefty fee and a $1 million security detail.
A group of Dolton directors recently hired Lori Lightfoot, the failed former mayor of Chicago whose city was ablaze with crime and violence, to investigate Henyard for a hefty fee of $400 an hour.
Now, Fox 32 Chicago reports that on Friday the FBI served a subpoena at Dolton City Hall.
“I can confirm that the FBI is conducting court-authorized law enforcement activities in the area today. The Justice Department prohibits the FBI from commenting on the nature of its ongoing investigation. The FBI said in a statement that it has no further information to release at this time.
Four FBI agents visited Dolton around 2:30 p.m. They served two federal subpoenas. The first was for the employment records, personnel files and disciplinary reports of 25 Dolton employees, including three police officers and Keith Freeman. Mr. Freeman, the village administrator, was indicted Monday on charges of bankruptcy fraud.
The second subpoena was served specifically on Freeman's behalf, requesting records of all companies associated with him and his possible ties to the town.
Last Friday night, Mayor Henry Yard posted on Facebook, “To all the clowns who are different from the circus. Misfortune needs company. I pray for all of you. “Stop chasing fake news,” he said.
She then included screenshots suggesting that the FBI's statement and several media outlets' reports were “fake news.”
