Held from 11 to 13 April, the conference set out to address key areas of language education.
The event, which attracted more than 270 participants from more than 33 countries, saw a notable increase in attendance, reminiscent of pre-pandemic times, the association said.
Additionally, a significant portion of attendees were first-time attendees, indicating the conference's continued appeal to new attendees.
Founded in 1991, Eaquals is a leading international provider of quality monitoring services to the global language learning sector and aims to promote excellence in language education.
This conference presented various programs such as language education, management education, and auditor training on the first day, followed by an official opening ceremony on the second day.
Eaquals Executive Director Lou McLaughlin, along with Eaquals Board of Directors Chairman Thom Kiddle, warmly welcomed attendees at the opening ceremony.
“We were delighted to welcome such a large number of attendees from the industry and were very pleased with the quality of presentations given by members and non-members alike,” said McLaughlin.
“It was a vibrant hub where best practices were shared and new trends such as AI were explored in depth, demonstrating the knowledge and expertise within the network.”
The highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of language education.
The Eaquals Teacher Award was presented to Mohsen Askari, educational technology coordinator and English instructor at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University in Istanbul, in recognition of his “exemplary dedication and influence in the classroom.”
It was a vibrant hub where best practices were shared.
The conference also celebrated recipients of Eaquals scholarships, which support institutions facing difficult business environments, unfavorable exchange rates and local political challenges.
The broader conference agenda covered best practice in teaching and learning in course design, CEFR and assessment, leadership and management, CPD and AI development in language education.
During the event, a language assessment specialization program developed in collaboration with ALTE was launched.
This innovative course focuses on fundamental evaluation principles and introduces best practices and key considerations taken from the European Profiling Grid and ALTE Principles 2020.
Designed to be engaging, diverse, and goal-oriented, LAPP provides participants with a free opportunity to improve their skills in assessing students' language skills.
This year's Eaquals Online Conference will take place from 11 to 12 October, while next year's Eaquals Annual Conference will be held in Malta from 27 to 29 March.
