The perpetrator of this true crime began working as a law enforcement officer at age 23 and worked as a school resource officer early in his career. He left law enforcement suddenly after serving for 20 years.
An active law enforcement officer, he preyed on women who were sitting in cars parked near a city park. He shined her flashlight in the driver's face and told her to get out of her car. She told me to stay in her car if I had any passengers.
He sexually assaulted his female victims, usually under the age of 28, usually in the early morning hours, after putting them in the backseat of his car. He often wore a mask.
Additionally, when I was in the office, I looked up information on sexual assault cases, even though I was not the perpetrator and did not directly participate in the incident. He had apparently read about his crimes, and he wanted to be one step ahead if he were found to be the culprit.
Just before his sudden resignation, the police department appointed a new police chief. When he quit his job as a police officer, no one knew that he would soon be arrested for horrific crimes that occurred while he was on the force.
The new police chief issued a press statement saying he had made sexual assault a top priority. That announcement was followed by his resignation. However, the sexual deviant was forced to change his operating mode (MO or modus operandi), so he began to peek.
As private citizens, homeowners have caught former police officers peeking into their home security through windows and fences. He wasn't ransacking the house to rob it. He was investigating women.
Officers responded to a prowler incident and observed a former police officer (who fit the description) riding his bicycle near the location. They asked him questions.
They arrested him after he admitted to peeping. In an interview through a window, he confessed to committing sexual crimes against 10 women during his six years of service.
The new police chief said:
Before trial, the former police officer pleaded guilty to 12 counts of sexual assault and five counts of invasion of privacy. The judge sentenced him. Over 23 years in prisonHe will be placed on probation and registered as a sex offender.
The victims said this at the sentencing. one woman said.
