Didi committed his heinous acts.
Not that the rapper really had any other options.
Late last week, CNN obtained surveillance video from 2016 that showed Diddy brutally assaulting Cathy Ventura while the two were dating.
The video shows Diddy grabbing Cassie outside the elevator, throwing her to the ground and kicking her multiple times.
The events Cassie described mirror what Diddy did to her in a lawsuit she filed against her ex last November. This was quickly resolved by the controversial mogul for an undisclosed sum.
Meanwhile, early Sunday morning, Diddy turned on the camera and mentioned the ugly beating in his video.
He posted it on Instagram.
“It’s so hard to look back on the darkest times of your life,” Combs says in the video. “Sometimes you have to do that. I'm screwed. What I mean is, I hit rock bottom, but I have no excuses. “There is no excuse for my actions in that video.”
He continues:
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
To some, this may sound like a big step, but as mentioned above… What else could Diddy say?
There is evidence that he attacked Cassie. It's there for everyone to see.
It is worth mentioning here that last April, authorities raided Didi's homes in California and Florida as part of an investigation by a Department of Homeland Security team dealing with human trafficking.
He has been accused of assault and abuse by several women.
Without citing any other claims, Diddy added in his social media post:
“It’s disgusting. It was disgusting then, and it's disgusting now. I went and sought professional help, got therapy, and went to rehab. I had to ask God for His mercy and grace. He's really sorry, but he promises to be a better person. Daily.”
Diddy captioned the video, “I'm so sorry,” but many people emphasized that he neither mentioned Cassie by name nor apologized directly to her.
“Combs' most recent statements are more about himself than the many people he has hurt,” Cassie's attorney, Meredith Firetog, said in a statement to CNN this afternoon.
The lawyer added, “No one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
Considering what we saw in the video along with all the other claims made against Diddy, we tend to agree with this sentiment.
Prior to his most recent statement, Combs shared a post on Instagram on May 14 that read, “Time tells the truth.”
As it turns out, surveillance camera footage tells the truth even more clearly.
Referring to Cassie's lawsuit a few months ago, the musician's other lawyer said shortly after it was made public:
“The horrible video is Mr. It only further confirms Combs' disturbing and predatory behavior. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude Mr. Ventura has shown in coming forward to shed light on this issue.”
Cassie's husband also recently commented on the video, standing up for his wife and condemning all men who lay their hands on women.
