Daniel Mróz (born February 3, 1917 in Kraków; died January 21, 1993 in Kraków) – Polish stage designer and artist, illustrator of Stanislaw Lem's science fiction novels and Sławomir Mrożek's unique and absurd writing.
Daniel Mróz's work remains highly regarded. These surreal black-and-white paintings and collages, created during Poland's difficult communist era when realistic works were encouraged by the authorities, have inspired many artists in Poland and abroad. In the winter of 2011, Google Doodle reiterated his unique artistic style. Over the past few years, several books and catalogs listing Mróz's work have been published, several serious shows of his graphic work have been held, and a short film with Daniel Mróz's participation has been reissued on DVD.
