Thousands of car dealers are struggling to do business this week following two cyberattacks on industrial software providers.
The cyberattack on CDK Global, which provides software to about 15,000 auto dealerships in the U.S. and Canada, disrupted many dealers' sales, financing and payroll systems. that Some car sellers have been forced to do business the old-fashioned way.
“It's all a mess. You have to do everything manually,” said Kevin Red, a car salesman at AutoNation Honda Dulles in Sterling, Virginia. “Inconvenience happens to everyone. For us, for management, and for customers.”
