For the first time in history, the Dow Jones Industrial Average exceeded 40,000. This is what happened under Joe Biden, and some of the largest corporate media outlets are ignoring it.
President Biden posted the following statement:
This is good news for Americans' retirement accounts and another sign of confidence in the U.S. economy.
I'm building the economy from the bottom up, and our investments are making a difference.
This is good news and deserves mention in newspapers like The New York Times and Washington Post.
Are you there?
no.
As Dan Froomkin posted, this is on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, but not the Times or Post.
This story is literally nowhere on the Washington Post or NY Times homepages. It's nowhere. (Main article from WSJ.) pic.twitter.com/l69wlq9Wfm

A rising market is really big news. Because the Trump/GOP main argument against Biden's economic agenda is that it's bad for the stock market. Trump spent years pretending the stock market was the economy, and the corporate media went along with it, echoing the former president's praise.
In fact, the New York Times published 10 articles in March, most of which were about the frenzied “success” of Trump Media stocks. As of the time this story was published, how many articles have there been about markers surging under Biden? That number will be 0.
The corporate media's bias toward Biden and Trump can be subtle, but in this case it is overt. Good news about Biden is drowned out and criticism amplified.
