Charlotte's pregnancy is special and rare!
Aquariums are unsure about the length of Charlotte's pregnancy due to the rare circumstances associated with pregnancy.

The aquarium announced the shocking pregnancy news in early February. They explained why this pregnancy was so shocking and rare.
“Charlotte is a California stingray waiting to give birth! The problem is that there are no male stingrays in the tank!” The caption of the video shared on TikTok reads:
“One possibility is that the babies went through a process called parthenogenesis, in which the cells inside the egg divide themselves to create identical copies of their mother. Another possibility is that the babies were conceived by one of two male white-spotted cats. “We won’t know for sure until DNA testing is completed on the bamboo sharks we introduced to the tank in July 2023.”
Not long after announcing her pregnancy, the aquarium's founder and executive director, Brenda Ramer, spoke about parthenogenesis.
“It's just one of the bluest moon experiences,” she said, according to ABC News 13. “We'll either have a pato baby or some kind of potential hybrid. We're waiting for Jeff Goldblum to show up because it's 'Jurassic Park' now.”
The decision was made literally immediately after she became pregnant. And we are waiting to meet her fatherless offspring in a few months.
