In her acceptance speech, Duffy shared her journey: “I have felt all my life that travel is an industry for me. Although I may have missed the height requirement when I applied to become a flight attendant early in my career, I am happy and grateful for my work in the cruise industry. It took me to heights I never imagined.”

Driving growth and innovation
Since taking over as President, Duffy has played a key role in leading Carnival Cruise Line through a period of significant growth and recovery, especially following the impact of COVID-19 on the travel industry.

Duffy's tenure has been marked by ambitious fleet expansion, including the acquisition of five new ships within two years, plans to launch two more Excel-class ships by 2028, and the development of Celebration Key, Carnival's exclusive destination, scheduled to open in July 2025. .
The new $600 million destination will feature five individual portals that mirror areas found on Carnival Excel-class ships, including the recently announced one. Fourth and fifth Excel class shipswill be built at Germany's Meyer Werft shipyard for launch in 2027 and 2028, respectively.
As president of Carnival, which turns 50 in 2022 and welcomes its 100 millionth guest in 2023, Duffy leads a team of more than 48,000 employees, including operations in Australia, where three P&O Cruises Australia are under his direction.
