You should always consult a professional before choosing a skin care method.
Body odor can be a source of embarrassment and discomfort for many people.
Sweating is a common problem that many people face, and even more so in summer. During this time, sweaty armpits can cause body odor. This causes embarrassment and discomfort for many people. There are several ways to solve the problem of armpit odor. People also use many Ayurvedic treatments and prescription medications to solve this problem. Dermatologist Dr. Aparajita Lamba shares a simple solution. According to her, applying salt water or salt to your armpits twice a day can help eliminate the odor. She suggested another method as well. Let's take a look.
Dr. Aparajita Lamba shared a unique way to get rid of armpit odor in a recent Instagram post. In the caption of her post, she shared her method. The caption reads, “Easy step-by-step routine – 1. Wash your face with Benzac Gel in the shower (apply and rinse after 60 seconds), 2. Numis Med Deo Roll On (twice a day), 3. Pat your armpits using salt water. twice a day.”
Dr. Shareefa Chause, dermatologist and esthetician at Shareefa Skin Care Clinic, shared her opinion regarding this claim in an interview. She warned that using salt water to get rid of armpit odor could have detrimental effects on some skin types and should not be followed by everyone. She said: “Salt has antibacterial properties that kill some bacteria and help eliminate unpleasant body odor, but it may not be suitable for everyone and can cause allergic reactions including burning, redness and itching. Everyone’s skin type is different, and what works for one person may not work for another.”
Salt has been proven to cause skin irritation. Certain skin types experience redness and sensitivity issues. Using salt water may cause mild irritation in some people. Using certain treatments without consulting your doctor may cause harmful effects, such as dryness or eczema.
To properly solve the problem, Dr. Shoz said in an interview, “Rubbing salt or applying salt water alone cannot eliminate armpit odor caused by a mixture of sweat and bacteria. “Following good hygiene practices such as showering regularly, using chemical-free products prescribed by a dermatologist, and wearing underarm roll-ons with antiperspirant properties is the need of the hour.”
She urged people to consult a professional about skincare home remedies and make an informed decision.
