Playbook: “Unsurprisingly (and with good reason), Biden supporters worry that Mr. Heo’s report will solidify a narrative that has already begun to take shape in the minds of millions of voters. In other words, the president is simply not mentally sharp enough to handle another term. The only way to defeat this, they advise, is to get Biden in front of the cameras and not hide him.”
“No more avoiding Super Bowl interviews or avoiding press conferences and interviews. Instead, the more Biden engages in unscripted commentary, the less likely people will be to obsess over his mistakes.”
New York Times editorial: “The president must reassure the public and build trust by doing something that has hitherto been difficult to do convincingly. He will have to campaign a lot more with voters without any prior practice. He could conduct more town hall meetings in the community and on national television. “He must hold regular press conferences to demonstrate his leadership and direction in leading the country,” he said.
