California competes for the title of best place in the country to flee illegally, with an endless list of state-funded benefits for illegal immigrants. A Fresno-area lawmaker's latest effort is geared toward providing home loan benefits to first-time homebuyers who entered the country illegally.
With the dream of homeownership slipping out of the hands of young American families, these additional possibilities could make it more difficult for Californians to receive the benefits their taxes paid for. The question that should be above everything else legal The hearts of Californians should be the reason California lawmakers want to make it more attractive for illegal immigrants to flock to their state.
The non-American dream
Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula has introduced a bill that would expand eligibility for California's state loan program to include illegal immigrants. The current program, California Dream for All Shared Appreciation Loan, provides first-time homebuyers with a loan equal to 20% of the purchase price.
The loan accrues no interest and requires no monthly payments. When a home buyer sells their home, they must repay the loan plus 20% of the increase in home value.
Initially targeting low- and moderate-income California residents, Arambola argues that the program should also be available to undocumented immigrants living in the state.
Mr. Arambula explains:
“Homeownership has historically been the primary means of building generational wealth in the United States. The social and economic benefits of homeownership should be available to everyone.”

Not everyone in California is enthusiastic about the idea that legal Californians should have to compete with illegal immigrants for state-backed home loans. State Senator Brian Dahle countered this claim, claiming that the additions to the original bill:
“… It's an insult to Californians who are being left behind and homeownership prices are falling. “I’m all for helping first-time homebuyers, but giving priority to people who have lived here legally.”
But priorities for Californians are not on Gov. Gavin Newsom's agenda.
Run away to the Golden State!
California has approved a huge amount of state-funded benefits for illegal immigrants over the past few years. Illegal immigrants living in California are not only eligible for in-state tuition and financial aid for state schools, but also receive free health care from California taxpayers.
Governor Newsom recently expanded a 2015 program that included illegal immigrant children in the state's version of Medicaid to include adults over age 50. Treatments include hormones and gender reassignment surgery at an estimated cost of $3.1 billion paid by Californians.
The state also has a monthly income program for illegal immigrants called the Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI). The programs are as follows:
“…is a 100% state-funded program designed to provide monthly cash benefits to elderly, blind, and disabled non-citizens who are ineligible for SSI/SSP (Supplemental Security Income) because of their immigration status.”

The above expression is interesting. Instead of calling these individuals illegal immigrants, California relabels them as “non-citizens” or uses the phrase “due to immigration status,” labeling them as if they were trapped due to an administrative error.
Mr. Arambola does the same in home loan bill updates in the following languages:
“…applicants under the program will not be disqualified based solely on the applicant’s immigration status.”
What is the state exactly? With these benefits, it is no surprise that people from near and far are flocking to our southern border in defiance of our laws.
Why follow the rules when you can break them and gain more benefits than actual citizens who pay for the same benefits as rule followers?
