The White House announced that President Biden will visit several key states next week, giving national television interviews and holding press conferences.
The Associated Press reported the news as reported by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a briefing with reporters:
Jean-Pierre said Biden, who did not take questions from reporters after Thursday night’s debate, would meet with Democratic governors and congressional leaders on Wednesday. And Biden has also agreed to an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that will air Friday. He plans to visit Wisconsin on Friday and Philadelphia on Monday. And he will hold a news conference at the NATO summit in Washington next week.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has no events scheduled for next week.
One advantage they haven’t capitalized on is that Donald Trump barely campaigns one day a week. If the Biden campaign wanted to, they could put the president in front of the cameras every day and eliminate age-related concerns that rage after the debates.
The Biden campaign needs to put forward a candidate who is running a better campaign than Trump, and voters need to be reassured that they have a better president than Trump.
Biden has a chance to put his post-debate concerns to rest. He just has to embrace it.
