New campaign fundraising numbers are out and they show enthusiasm for the Biden-Harris campaign.
The incumbents' campaigns face many challenges, but they have also raised more money than any other Democratic candidate in history at this point in the quarter, and 40% of their donors are new to this cycle. In fact, 1.6 million people have participated in the campaign so far.
The campaign raised $187 million in the first quarter of 2024.
Biden-Harris raised $90 million in March, and Trump raised $65 million.

Biden-Harris has $192 million in cash, and Trump has $93 million.
The $422 million since its launch in April is “the largest ever for a Democratic presidential candidate.”
About 40% of this cycle's donors are new from 2020. “We’ve seen a ton of new donors come forward since the races were unified,” said Rob Flaherty, deputy director of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign. “I think we’re getting money from a variety of people who care about democracy and this election.”
What does this mean? The overwhelming enthusiasm for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris tells a very different story than the one driven by poor polling.
This leaves Democrats with $192 million in cash, which they describe as “more than any Democratic candidate in history at this point in the cycle and more than double Trump’s war chest.”
The campaign drew a sharp contrast between its grassroots fundraising efforts and its Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, who is “bonking billionaires to raise his own money tonight.”
“Trump’s campaign is hiding behind a few billionaires at Mar-a-Lago and appears to be struggling to attract the enthusiasm of grassroots donors that powered his campaign’s victory,” said Rob Flaherty, deputy director of the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign. “He said. He said, “Unlike Trump, we have nothing to hide and nothing to be proud of. “Our program is showing historic strength and sending a clear signal that our coalition is motivated and growing each month.”
But billionaires won't just give up. Donald Trump is all about tax cuts and deregulation. He has more money and power over them. So Donald Trump is expected to have a huge influx of cash after a fundraiser for billionaires in Palm Beach this Saturday, and according to CNN, he's already raised $43 million.
Every dollar you donate to the Biden-Harris re-election campaign goes towards talking to voters. Biden campaign finance chairman Rufus Gifford said on MSNBC: A Weekend with Symone Sanders.
While the opening of billionaires' wallets will pave the way for Trump to escape his legal troubles and return to power, the real story behind these fundraising numbers is the passion of The People. The real voter enthusiasm is for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, for democracy, and for freedom.
But it will be a fight.
