President Biden gave Howard Stern an exclusive interview with the New York Times after he complained about not being able to interview him.
Here's what Biden is doing this morning.
The interview so far has been very electric. “I was an idiot in law school,” Biden recalled, adding that he “didn’t take it seriously enough” at first. For example, he didn't buy textbooks until mid-semester.

Biden and his administration see their presidency as one for the middle class, which does not attract the attention of elites. A New York Times reporter recently admitted that the paper is biased against President Biden and that he has been reporting negatively on the president because the publisher was upset that he did not give an exclusive interview.
I'm sure the Stern interview was scheduled well in advance, but it's a coincidence that the president is sitting down with a radio host that the Times would instead find an insult.
There is a political strategy at work here. Biden will need to energize Democratic-leaning voters who may not be deeply engaged or committed after the election. Biden doesn't need New York Times readers. He needs voters who don't really follow the news right now.
Joe Biden is expected to give 100 interviews to entertainment outlets and late-night talk shows like Howard Stern before settling down with the increasingly arrogant and credentialed New York Times.
