If you're heading to New York on the Fourth of July, if you can get a room at one of these great hotels in time, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the fireworks from your hotel.
For the first time in 10 years, the annual Macy's Fourth of July fireworks display will be launched over the Hudson River between W 14th and W 24th, with plenty of viewing spots across Manhattan and West New Jersey.
There are plenty of fun events to enjoy, including family-friendly harbor cruises with live DJs, buffet dinners, and open bars for the best fireworks photos. On land, you’ll want to stay around Chelsea Piers.
But if you want to avoid the crowds and not miss out on the action, book one of these hotels to enjoy techno displays and cocktails.

2024 update: Some of the hotels below are great, but they face the East River. Last year, Macy's Fireworks started there, but this year it will be held on the Hudson River, so honestly, the hotels in New Jersey have the best views!
1. W Hoboken
Enjoy river views and the impressive New York skyline from your New Jersey hotel, as well as a front-row (or bedside) view of the Fourth of July fireworks. The W Hoboken is also a great hotel for exploring NYC. You can walk to the PATH station and catch a train to Manhattan.
Check room rates at W Hoboken here.
2. Hyatt House Jersey City
Another hotel with spectacular views of the New York skyline and the Statue of Liberty, Hyatt House Jersey City has a stunning rooftop so even if you don't have a waterfront room, you can watch the fireworks under the stars from upstairs.
A convenient way to get to New York is to take the PATH train to the World Trade Center. The Occulus Building at the World Trade Center will captivate architecture lovers!
Check out the rooms at Hyatt House Jersey City here.
3. The Standard, High Line
If you are in Manhattan and want to see the amazing fireworks over the Hudson River, see if you can book a room at The Standard Highline. The Highline is a free garden walkway high above the city. It used to be a railroad, but now there are trees, murals, gardens, and lots of people walking around!
It starts in Chelsea. In this post about the best flea markets in NYC, I recommend eating at the market and leaving when you want. Otherwise, it’s 1.45 miles long.
Check standard Highline prices here.

5. Envue, Autograph Collection
Envue in New Jersey, which offers views of the NYC skyline from its rooms and rooftop terrace, is another great place to get the best view of the Fourth of July fireworks. Featuring 2 restaurants, a swimming pool, and a 2-minute walk from Port Imperial Terminal to Midtown Manhattan.
Check Envue room rates now.
The following hotels offer great views of the East River: It won't be a good idea to set off fireworks from your window on July 4, 2024. But it's still cool so I'll keep it here!
6. William Vail (Brooklyn)
William Vale is a stylish, modern hotel in the heart of Brooklyn offering unparalleled views of the East River.
With its prime location and contemporary design, the hotel offers an unforgettable experience for those who want to get a front row seat to the vibrant displays. In fact, one of The William Vale’s standout features is its magnificent rooftop bar, Westlight, which boasts sweeping views of the city skyline and the East River.

And above this rooftop is another rooftop that's great for summer pop-up events. Relax in the lounge seating or upstairs beanbags, sip a craft cocktail and take in the breathtaking views in the afternoon. Then, secure a spot for an unobstructed view of the fireworks on July 4th at approximately 9:20 PM.

There are indoor and outdoor rooftop spaces, so if you can't make it on July 4th, book a spot on New Year's Eve in New York, where technomania is once again popular. You'll definitely want a warm drink!

Just across the East River is the Hoxton, with 175 rooms and views of the Manhattan skyline. Founded in London, the Hoxton Hotel is slightly different from other hotels in that it prides itself on converting disused buildings into luxury hotels. Think of reconfiguring a parking lot or an unused, unloved building into a hotel to reflect the surrounding area.
Book a room with a view or watch the New Year's Eve fireworks from Laser Wolf on the rooftop. Award-winning Israeli cuisine, including charcoal-grilled skewers, and excellent cocktails can be enjoyed at the outdoor skewer bar.
