Israel's siege of Al Shifa Hospital enters its 13th day, claiming more than 400 lives, including patients, war refugees and medical staff, Al Jazeera reported. As of March 19, approximately 32,000 Palestinians had been killed and more than 74,000 injured.
As global outrage over Israel's atrocities against Palestinians continues to grow, many celebrities and big names continue to use their fan bases to amplify the cause. Palestinian-American supermodel Bella Hadid has once again joined the ranks of critics of Israel's brutal apartheid regime.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, the model re-shared a video of Israeli Minister Orit Struk's speech addressing the rising tensions in Gaza and the West Bank. In the video, originally produced in Hebrew, Struk's strong statement is, “The Palestinian people does not exist. There is no such thing.”
Bella penned a critical note in the text overlaid on her IG story in response to the Israeli minister's claims. “Check out the millions of people who were executed while inheriting my father’s passport and Palestinian heritage,” she suggested firmly.
She continued, “The stolen Palestinian land is [away] The lives taken from them and the families destroyed. It is in the hands of those who one day decide that it is theirs and theirs alone.” Bella concluded her message with “food for thought.”
In another IG story she said Al Jazeera Israeli airstrikes have reportedly caused dozens of casualties in Syria, according to the Syrian military. “The genocide does not stop. Continued destruction. In the hands of a single power,” the fashion icon protested in another overlay message.
Following Israel's deadly military campaign against Palestinians following a surprise attack by Hamas in southern Israel on October 7 last year, Vela broke his silence with a lengthy note a few weeks later. The celebrity spoke out on the issue after posting a TikTok montage video on Instagram showing the worsening devastation in Gaza and the West Bank.
“Forgive me for my silence,” the model said. “I have yet to find the right words for these very complex and horrific last two weeks, which have brought the world’s attention back to a situation that is impacting and taking innocent lives.” said. A family for decades. “I have a lot to say, but I’ll leave it at that for today.”
Bella also confirmed recent reports that she had received death threats “every day” after her and her family's phone numbers were leaked due to their half-Palestinian heritage and criticism of Israel. Sources close to her family also reported that Bella's father, Mohamed Hadid, is considering getting the FBI involved to track down the perpetrators behind her threats. The celebrity, who is of Palestinian descent, shared that these incidents have left her fearing for her family's safety, insisting that she “can no longer remain silent” and that “fear is not an option.”
