Washington DC – The Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS) announced the appointment of Ulysses “Uly” Navarrete as its new Executive Director.
Navarrete brings a unique wealth of experience, dedication, and passionate passion for advocating on behalf of Latino students across the country. Known to all as “Uly,” he has nearly 20 years of valuable experience as an advocate for Latino children across the country.
As a seasoned business leader in a variety of roles in the private sector, he has been a tireless advocate and advocate for equity while fostering the growth of ALAS affiliates and members. His strategic insight has led to increased revenue, sustainable growth, national partnerships, and cohesive communications strategies within the organizations he has served.
Navarrete’s unwavering commitment to fostering inclusion and championing diversity resonates deeply with ALAS’ mission to address the educational needs of Latino students across the country. As the son of first-generation Mexican immigrants, he understands the importance of creating opportunities for underserved communities. His personal mantra, “Always talk about them,” emphasizes his commitment to prioritizing the needs of both students and administrators.
