No industry, especially the acting industry, is immune from the pervasive effects of nepotism. In the Pakistani drama industry, children of celebrities often receive a lucrative spotlight. Actor Arsalan Nasir debuted in the 2021 series. Shut up, shut upHe recently opened up about the rampant curse of nepotism that is plaguing the Pakistani entertainment industry.
Naseer held a candid Q&A session with his fans via Instagram Stories earlier this week. One particular question stood out as it shed light on his personal experience on this issue. In his no-nonsense style, Naseer does not shy away from mentioning that he is one of those actors who has not been able to escape the insidious clutches of nepotism.
One fan passionately wrote to Nasir, “Please do it with Ayeza Khan… it's also the lead role and a happy ending.” The actor had no hesitation in revealing the behind-the-scenes details of the drama, sharing a comment left by his fan on his IG story.
“I was working with her, but I got kicked out of the project, taking some actor's son instead. After some time, Ayeza left too,” he says candidly. Naseer highlighted the all-too-common industry practice of favoring star offspring over talent, which robs fans of what could have been a compelling on-screen partnership.
The last time Naseer grabbed headlines with his trademark wit was when Meta's Facebook and Instagram crashed globally during Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's famous pre-wedding celebrations. With this temporary closure, Naseer took to his Instagram Stories to make some interesting comments about Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The story said, “I want to be a cool-headed person like Zuckerberg in life. “My whole Instagram wasn’t working, I was busy enjoying the wedding food.”
