“To call someone a cop is to invoke the worst kind of police excesses, a legalistic authoritarianism that exists all by itself,” she said during her 28 years as a county prosecutor, district attorney (DA) and state attorney general (AG). during [Kamala] Harris has proven he's willing to live up to that nickname. In her public appearances, she speaks of her racial justice and liberal values, solidifying her own credibility as one of the Democratic Party's rising stars. “But behind closed doors, she continued to fight for more aggressive prosecution of not only violent criminals, but also those who committed misdemeanors and ‘quality of life’ crimes.”

“We all provide gigabytes of personal information to Facebook, Foursquare, Google and AT&T. We do so voluntarily. Last year, former government contractor Edward Snowden revealed that our government has been engaging in extensive domestic espionage. “Keeping track of everyone we call, when we call, and where we call is increasingly looking like an archaic mid-20th century relic.”

“The idea that nothing beats inflation to get people back to work still prevails in some Democratic circles. [President Bill] Clinton is obsessed with keeping interest rates low. This is an unrealistic goal when expanding economies in Asia, Latin America, and parts of the former Eastern Bloc will increase demand for credit, causing currency prices to rise. Meanwhile, budget deficits continue to put pressure on inflation, forcing the government to pay its creditors in cheaper dollars. “The next 10 years may look nothing like the last 10.”

“The ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Act, introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Representative Charles Schumer (DY), would prohibit the manufacture or import of ammunition clips containing more than 10 rounds and semi-automatic firearms that accept such clips. The law prohibits 19 firearms by name, but applies to a total of 184 current models, including those that must have two or more features: a folding stock, a pistol grip, a bayonet mount, a threaded barrel for flash suppression, a grenade launch mount, and a barrel shroud. Although three former presidents have argued that 'this is a critical issue for public safety,' there is little reason to believe that banning these weapons will have any effect on violent crime. Despite their scary-looking military-style features, the guns are legal. “It's no more lethal than the hundreds of guns that remain.”

“It is widely known that the enormous decline in the value of the dollar is due to Washington's persistent inflationary policies. Since 1975, the rate of inflation in the United States has consistently exceeded that of Germany, Japan, and Switzerland. Officials in these countries responded to political pressure. “The United States has the courage to resist its tax policy, which is one of the most anti-investment policies in the industry, resulting in alarmingly low savings and investment rates that continue to weaken the productivity of American industry.”

“Freedom of speech means nothing if it does not include the right to say things with which others disagree. It is especially important to prevent governments from restricting what can be said about themselves. Those who advocate for limits on donations and spending People say it will make elections more ‘fair’, but no system can be fair if it limits how individuals can peacefully spend their money and what they can say about political issues.”
