According to the Associated Press, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) signed legislation Wednesday “protecting in vitro fertilization providers from potential liability raised by court rulings equating frozen embryos with children.”
“Republicans in the state Legislature have proposed immunity from lawsuits as a way to get clinics to reopen. But they refused to adopt legislation addressing the legal status of embryos.”
