Ivan Karpitsky, a self-taught artist from Minsk, Belarus, showcased his talents on social media by creating a functional ice boat that can carry at least one person.
Karpitsky, famous for his ice and snow sculptures, gained fame in 2020 with his ice violin. This winter, he exceeded his expectations with his ice boat project, built on the shores of the Tsnyanskoe reservoir. Using blocks of ice and water as glue, he used power tools to create intricate details, including aesthetic ice rudders and removable paddle wheels that create the illusion of propulsion. The exact size of the boat is unclear, but it will likely accommodate one or two passengers.
