Discord, also known as a social media site, is a text, voice, and chat messenger that is gaining huge popularity in the streaming world as its features continue to improve. This app is essentially an advanced version of AOL Instant Messenger with more features and user controls. The recent storm taking the world of gaming has allowed content creators to streamline all their social media and communication with their fans.
It's now standard on PlayStation 5, enabling player-to-player and voice chat natively on all platforms. And another big feature is coming: TuneIn, a full radio application. Anyone using Discord voice chat can play their favorite live and local radio stations or podcasts on the platform for their friends. This means that with the click of a button, anyone can become a DJ in one of the world's most popular online meeting spaces.
Fox News spoke with TuneIn CEO Rich Stern, who explained that the process is very simple. “In every voice chat on the Discord platform, you’ll see a little icon that looks like a rocket,” Stern said. “Press that button and you’ll start Tunein activity for over 100,000 radio stations and over 5 million podcasts.”
You can also share it. The first user to click the icon takes on the role of DJ, and can pass the DJ role on to others via voice chat. This is just one of the integration plans underway at TuneIn. “We've created the technology and platform to create integrations for our partners and make everything work seamlessly,” Stern said. “Yes, see more communities like Discord and more apps like Discord bringing the radio experience. ”
