The headline sounds like an April Fool's joke, but the travel company actually announced that it will bring back PanAm for a limited time in 2025. The goal is to give 50 lucky and fortunate customers an exclusive experience that replicates the transatlantic route in pure luxury.
PanAm was once considered the best international airline. Their flying boats defined the early era of long-distance aerial flight. PanAm was also the first company to fly jumbo jets. But over time, it lost much of its luster. The airline faced greater competition and had to sell its lucrative rights to Pacific flights, eventually leading to the collapse of the original airline. Two further restart attempts for PanAm also failed.
Is Panam really coming back?
Instead of resurrecting a dead airline, a company called Centurion Travel is bringing back the Pan Am name, logo, and experience for limited events. Travel agents say, “We are reminded of the golden age of travel as we become increasingly accustomed to travel as a commodity, usually a way to get from point A to point B at the most economical price. “A time when the journey itself was a wonderful experience, a time when the journey was as important and special as the destination.”
The plan is for a multi-city tour with luxury stops on both sides of the Atlantic from June 27 to July 9, 2025. Along the way, you'll enjoy the comfort of our specially appointed Boeing 757's lie-flat business suite accommodations. It features a throwback Pan Am experience. At each stop, you can dine at top restaurants and stay in luxurious accommodations. For the average geek with such exquisite taste, this experience will set you back $65,5500. Bringing a partner can save you both some money if you don't mind sharing a room. Couple pricing is $59,950 each. But you must hurry. There are only 50 seats available for this limited engagement. The new venture is led by Craig Carter, currently known as the CEO of Pan American World Airways LLC. LLC licensed the Pan Am logo and branding for the experience.
Will the PanAm livery apply to the PanAm 757?
Unfortunately, it is not yet known whether the leased/chartered 757 will feature the PanAm billboard livery. There is also no confirmation as to which company will be providing the charter. Notably, PanAm has never operated a 757 during the airline's three iterations.
However, there are rumors that New Pacific Airlines is planning to install business class seats on its jets for charter flights after ceasing regular service earlier this year. However, there is no word yet on whether the company will offer travel on this limited schedule. We will update this article when we learn more.
