SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (TCN) — A 32-year-old man was arrested last week after he shot his wife and mother-in-law in the head to death.
Friday, June 21st, 8:40 PM, I got a call from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. We heard that there was a shooting in Cropper. When they arrived, they found a dead adult female and a second adult female with serious injuries. The victim with life-threatening injuries was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators later arrested Michael Hunt on one count of murder and one count of attempted murder. prison The record is displayed Hunt's attempted murder charge was upgraded to murder because the second victim died.
According to WLKY-TV, Hunt's mother-in-law, Heather “Beth” Simmons, was already dead when deputies arrived. Simmons' daughter and Hunt's wife, Emily Hunt, was still alive. She was reported dead on Sunday, June 23.
“There was an incident where they took both women out,” Hunt told investigators.
Hunt is being held in the Shelby County Detention Center without bail.
