Nashville (TCD) — Police arrested a 38-year-old man after a neighbor saw him dragging what appeared to be a body out of the building and into a storm drain.
According to WSMV-TV, on Tuesday, January 23, Metro Nashville Police Department officers were called to the Parliament Place Apartments by a maintenance worker, where the apartment supervisor reportedly observed Dominic Collier moving a body through the building and into a drain. . Police reportedly obtained photos and surveillance video of the crime scene and identified Collier as a suspect.
Police went to Collier's nearby apartment and reportedly found clothing on a chair matching what was seen in video evidence.
The victim's body was wrapped in a blanket and a shower curtain. WSMV reported that the victim's head was covered with a trash bag and a camouflage backpack.
Jail records show Collier was arrested on charges of abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and failure to report a corpse. His bond was set at $75,000.
The Tennessean reported that Collier was not cooperative with detectives and refused to speak with them. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
