Catherine, Princess of Wales made her first public appearance on Saturday morning since announcing her cancer diagnosis nearly three months ago.
The former Kate Middleton, 42, made her public appearance again while attending Trooping the Colour, the annual parade marking Charles III's birthday.
On the way to the ceremony, the future Queen of England, dressed in white, smiled and waved to spectators from her carriage. Her three children sat with her, and Prince William rode her horse in her parade. Later that day, Kate stood next to her royal side on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and watched the Royal Air Force fly over.
Kate's appearance wasn't a surprise at all. On Friday evening, she released a statement announcing her plans to attend the celebration, adding that her chemotherapy treatment still has several months left and that she is making “good progress.”
She wrote on Instagram: “I'm looking forward to attending the King's Birthday Parade with my family this weekend and hope to attend a few public events over the summer. But equally, I know I'm not out of the woods yet.” she wrote on Instagram.
Kate revealed publicly that she was in the early stages of chemotherapy in late March, after virtually disappearing from public view in late December. At the time, Kensington Palace said Kate's absence from public appearances was due to planned abdominal surgery. At the time, the palace stated that the treatment was not a cancer treatment.
Weeks before the princess announced her diagnosis, the palace revealed that Charles, 75, had also begun treatment for cancer. The palace did not share what type of cancer Charles or Kate had.
