As the world marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Biden campaign has released a new video calling Trump an unfit draft dodger.
Watch the Biden video:
In the video, the vet said:
Marine Corps Veteran Curtis Registration: A good commander is someone who gives a shit. My name is Curtis Register. I served in the United States Marine Corps.
Army Veteran ED McCABE: My name is Ed McCabe. I served from the 1990s to 2014.
Navy Veteran MATTHEW McLAUGHLIN: My name is Matthew McLaughlin. I served as a Navy pilot for eight years.
Marine Corps Veteran Curtis Registration: This is my first time shaking hands with the President of the United States. Seeing individuals supporting their troops on the battlefield as well as back home had quite an impact on me.
Navy Veteran MATTHEW McLAUGHLIN: In Joe Biden, I see someone who embraces responsibility and accountability. And when you look at his predecessor, Donald Trump, you see a man who is only in it for himself.
Army Veteran ED McCABE: —Someone who criticizes veterans and thinks going to their funerals is not important.
Navy Veteran MATTHEW McLAUGHLIN: Donald Trump has no responsibilities whatsoever in life.
Army Veteran ED McCABE: He's a draft dodger. It's that simple.
Marine Corps Veteran Curtis Registration: I think elections are the difference between authoritarianism and democracy. And I came to meet a president who is interested in maintaining democracy.
Army Veteran ED McCABE: Donald Trump, he is not fit to be commander in chief. He is not fit to lead the team. And he is certainly not fit to be President of the United States.
Trump and his party are trying to pretend that the two candidates in this election are equal, but they are not. Through his words and actions, Biden has shown his care and concern for the military and democracy. Donald Trump thinks the people who serve are idiots and losers and can't seem to understand why anyone would put the country's interests before their own.
Videos like the one featuring the vet are examples of how the Biden campaign is laying the groundwork to reach key voter groups. Donald Trump doesn't do this. In fact, he is barely campaigning. President Trump is scheduled to appear at a town hall in Arizona on Thursday and hold a rally in Nevada on Sunday.
Sunday's rally will be his first campaign event in weeks.
Those who have served our country are reminding voters who Trump is and what he really represents. The American people would be wise to listen.
