The Alitos claim they were anxious about school bus stops, but this was in January 2021, when the first COVID-19 vaccine was released. Many schools have not returned to in-person learning in more than a month. In fact, public schools in Alexandria, Virginia, where Alito lives, did not return to remote learning until March.
Alitos lives in the Fort Hunt suburb just south of Alexandria, so that could mean a bus stop for private schools that have chosen to open sooner than public schools. But even if Alito's excuse makes some sense, wouldn't those kids also wonder why the American flag is upside down?
