The lawyer took legal action against her ex-husband for not paying her on time. The ex-husband was scheduled to appear in court again next week, but did not wait for a new court date to resolve the dispute. He loaded a gas canister into his vehicle, loaded a revolver, and then visited his lawyer.
Shortly thereafter, local authorities and firefighters responded to a structure fire at the attorney's office. Bystanders told police a suspicious-looking man was in the area. Police detained and arrested the man.
There was a gas tank in his vehicle. The weapon used in the crime was still on his body, and the fire had burned his skin and singed his hair and eyebrows.
The man couldn't drive away because he had lost his keys. Firefighters found his car keys on the floor of the burned-out building next to the gunshot victim.
· Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
· Criminal attempt to conceal death
· Tampering with evidence.
The judge sentenced the 65-year-old man to prison. life in prison.
