Before the crew set sail in September 2023, Camilla sent reinforcements. “Thinking of you all as I cross the starting line today for Maiden’s final race in the Ocean Globe Race,” she said in a message at the time. “I hope each of you is proud to be part of a special crew that brings a message of hope to girls around the world. May we have favorable winds and seas!”

“Her Majesty the King has been recently diagnosed with cancer and will soon return to public duties following a period of treatment and recovery,” the palace said in a statement released on Friday, April 26. “To mark this milestone, the King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment center next Tuesday to meet specialists and patients.”
