BEONx, a Spanish travel technology company specializing in hospitality, has announced that it has secured NextGenerationEU funding through a grant from SEGITTUR, the agency under the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism that drives innovation in the Spanish tourism sector.
SEGITTUR's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan seeks to digitally transform the tourism industry, and the funds are expected to be used to drive digitalization of the sector.
The grant awarded to BEONx is known as “Last Mile” or “Ultima Milla” and its purpose is to promote the digitalization of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises.
BEONx received financial backing for its plans to address the challenges facing the hotel industry in a time of “unprecedented uncertainty and transformative change.”
This global project, valued at €4.8 million, is a joint effort in which BEONx holds a 70% stake and other prominent companies in the tourism sector, including VP Hotels, DynamEat, Bioscore, Barceló, Fideltour, Hospes Hoteles, The Hotels Network and Ladorian. , Masteryield jointly owns the remaining 30%.
The joint effort will result in the development of a “breakthrough” technology platform designed to revolutionize the way hotels operate.
This project will build a platform to improve hotel management and profitability.
There are four key pillars here, including a market of certified applications for profitability management: A real-time communication platform between these applications; An artificial intelligence engine and hotel sustainability index that coordinates their behavior.
The proposed platform is “revolutionary” in that it integrates all the applications needed to maximize hotel profitability and uses artificial intelligence to connect them and make data-driven decisions.
It also focuses on using artificial intelligence engines for total profitability, application impact certification, connection standardization, and orchestration.
It hopes to solve the hotel industry's problems related to lack of optimization of revenue opportunities, decision-making based on insufficient data, and inefficiencies in the use of contracting technology.
We will seek to address these inefficiencies by integrating all hotel services into a single tool and facilitating decision-making based on intelligently processed data.
