An Arab professor of Islam and Arab culture at the University of Waterloo believes Robin DiAngelo's concept of “white fragility” “perpetuates” anti-black racism in Arab societies.
Amir al-Azraki (pron) “playwright, literary translator; [and] In ‘Theatre of the Oppressed Practitioner’, he writes that he has to ‘wrestle with’ the fact that he is ‘a ‘white’ or light-skinned Arab within the Arab world’ and ‘a ‘person of color’ navigating Canadian space’.
Plus he has to “grapple”.[e] Adopting concepts developed by white American scholars is complex.”
(The last one is on. youFriends, let’s face it – there is very little “complexity” and “academic” in DiAngelo’s rants about whiteness.)
In his work, Al-Azraki (picture) It repeats many of the white fragility doctrines, such as “defensiveness” and “discomfort,” which supposedly “prevent meaningful conversation and perpetuate systems of oppression.”
Naturally, this “defense” can cover virtually anything, so any DiAngelo's challenge to this nonsense is neatly categorized as “racism.”
For Al-Azraki, “I grew up in a family that values fairness and rejects racism,” and “We are all Iraqis. “Race doesn’t matter,” “judge people based on their actions, not their identities,” violates DiAngelo’s principles because individualism, objectivity, colorblindness, meritocracy, good/bad dichotomies, and problematic ideologies Because moral judgments are formed by beliefs.”
But only in well-isolated academia is objectivity, seeing people as individuals, and looking beyond skin color considered ‘problematic’.

That said, now is a good time to reexamine why DiAngelo's “white fragility” is so messed up.
— It violates the principle of falsification. This means: any The kind of objection to her theory is racist. This ties into another key point. “Emotionally manipulative.”
DiAngelo’s empty concept “locks well-intentioned people into an impossible conundrum. If you refuse to admit that you are a racist, not only are you a racist, but you are also mentally and emotionally vulnerable. “If you admit you are a racist, at least you are not weak.”
— It ignores individuals and assigns attributes based on (racial) groups. how Other DiAngelo can “accuse almost everyone of racism and white supremacy”? But remember: Negative group characteristics only apply to white people. Of course, it is racist to comment on other groups.
— It ruins relationships. Look here. Thankfully, there are many minorities, like my colleagues who teach science, who see through “white fragility” style BS.
A few years ago, during a Glenn Singleton-based white privilege exercise, this colleague said this to me: My brother, Hoover – do we get along?” I answered, “Yes, I always thought so.”
Here is her answer: “Then why on earth are we saying this nonsense??”
