The food is fresh from local farmers. Upon arrival, you can choose a selection of local spices, which are packed into tea bags that are used to prepare your evening tea before going to bed each night. There's also an 'Earth Lab' where you can immerse yourself in the island's sustainability movement.
The Caribbean's first Six Senses resort officially opened on Wednesday, bringing a unique brand of luxury to an island where sustainability is not just a buzzword. It's a way of life.
“It is the essence of our sustainability practices,” Petra Roach, CEO of Grenada Tourism, told Caribbean Journal of the brand. “What I like is that we looked at what the strengths of Grenada are as a destination,” she said.

Focused on sustainability and wellbeing, Six Senses La Sagesse Grenada is the latest project in an increasingly impressive portfolio from Range Developments, which also operates the renowned Park Hyatt St Kitts and the InterContinental in Dominica.
Located on the beautiful La Sagesse beach (one of our favorite spots on the island), the new Six Senses is decidedly boutique. There are just 56 suites (all with private plunge pools) and another 15 self-contained villas.
Like all Six Senses, there's a signature spa, and that's just the beginning of a list of amenities that includes three restaurants, ice cream, and a coffee bar. Large outdoor swimming pool; library, kids club, youth lounge; There are also unique touches such as an organic garden, an “alchemy bar” where you can make your own scrubs, remedies and candles, and a “biohack recovery lounge.”

The hotel also features Six Senses' renowned GEMs, or “Guest Experience Makers,” who help cater to every need and cater to every whim, including helping prepare the aforementioned spice tea.
This is immediately the most exciting new luxury resort in the Caribbean. But it's more than that. It is also an infusion of sustainability know-how and a new example for the rest of Grenada and the region, says Roach.

“I think it’s important for people who have adopted these practices to come forward and share them and set an example for the industry at large,” says Roach. “I think the management here is very open to collaboration with other hotels as well as other organizations.”
Beyond sustainability, the hotel appears to be an exciting new addition to Grenada's diverse and multi-layered hotel offering, specializing in places to stay with character.
“We have a very unique product in terms of accommodation in Grenada,” she said. “Each hotel has a different character and personality. And Six Senses presents a completely different look.”
