Kickstarting the Future of Public Safety: Rise DFR Village Test Site Initiative
In a major step toward integrating drone technology into public safety, Skyfire Consulting has unveiled Rise DFR Village. Located in Huntsville, Alabama, this unique facility spans over 2,000 acres and has been designated as a testing site by the FAA. We are committed to advancing Drone First Responder (DFR) programs for public safety agencies, military and Department of Defense agencies, critical infrastructure agencies, and the private sector.
Skyfire founder and CEO Matt Sloane emphasized the facility's importance in enhancing public safety operations through drones. “Rise DFR Village represents a significant leap forward in integrating drones into public safety operations, and Skyfire is grateful for the support of Huntsville International Airport and the City of Huntsville,” Sloane said. He emphasized the village's role in providing a realistic training environment and fostering collaboration with industry leaders, with the goal of maximizing the potential of life-saving drone technology.
Rise DFR Village is designed to provide an unparalleled training experience while preparing first responders for a variety of real-world tasks. The facility provides realistic training scenarios across urban, rural and disaster-affected environments. We also ensure access to the latest drone technology through collaboration with leading drone manufacturers and software developers. A key aspect of the training focuses on integrating DFR operations into existing public safety workflows with the goal of streamlining and enhancing response efforts.
The facility's comprehensive approach and collaborations with industry giants including BRINC, Parrot, AirData, DroneSense, Motorola (CAPE), Echodyne, DeDrone, the Huntsville Police Department, and the University of Alabama at Huntsville highlight its commitment to transforming public safety through drones. do. Rise DFR Village is more than just a training ground, it is a hub for drone technology innovation and adoption in critical response operations.
Additionally, portions of Rise DFR Village will be on display at the second Annual Future Proof DFR & Airspace Awareness Summit, May 8-10, highlighting the facility's drone technology capabilities and innovations. The summit is an opportunity for public safety and military/defense personnel to engage with the latest in drone and counter-drone operations and offers complimentary tickets to these sectors.
Drone First Responders are at the forefront of transforming public safety by providing enhanced situational awareness, faster response times, and enhanced capabilities in search and rescue, firefighting, hazardous materials identification, and law enforcement support.
