Members of Rutgers-New Brunswick Students for Justice in Palestine made additional demands to school officials at a recent press conference after the suspension was lifted.
SJP was suspended for “multiple violations of the University’s Student Code of Conduct.” daily Targum, This included “disruptions to Rutgers Business School’s learning environment, events, classes, and demonstrations.”

At a press conference, a trio of keffiyeh-covered SJP members stood at a podium with a banner reading “Rutgers Profits from Palestinian Suffering” and called for Rutgers to include “anti-Palestinian racism” in mandatory diversity training and “Arab United “demanded the establishment of “It is a cultural center with resources for Palestinian and Arab students.”

At the meeting and in a statement, the organization extended its criticism of the university's administration to university President Jonathan Holloway. The university's attempt to make Palestinian students appear dangerous and seditious suppresses their identity, the group said.
