Konstanz, March 13, 2024 – Fruitcore Robotics, a pioneer in AI-enabled automation solutions, is expanding its portfolio with a groundbreaking further development and the next generation of digital robots, the HORST1500. Thanks to technological optimization through artificial intelligence, these industrial robots reach new levels of performance and redefine the economic efficiency of industrial automation. The compact, service-friendly design and user-friendliness provide maximum flexibility in use and enable the lowest lifetime costs on the market. The new generation of digital robots sets new standards, especially in mechanical assembly and palletizing. Thanks to the intuitive operation supported by AI, change orders can be set up quickly and very efficiently without the need for professional know-how.
Patrick Heimburger, Managing Director of Fruitcore Robotics, explains: “With HORST1500, we are taking a huge leap forward. Last year we were the first company in the world to integrate ChatGPT into our control software. Now we are reaching new milestones in hardware as well.”
Expanded application options for machine assembly
The HORST1500 is specifically designed for mechanical loading and unloading as well as palletizing processes. We further developed existing industry-proven technologies and optimized our patented robot kinematics using AI-enabled development tools such as machine learning algorithms.
HORST1500 is an ultra-small robot that weighs only 99 kg and is the lightest of its kind. It offers an operating range of 1485 mm and an optimally designed working area, making it easier to intervene on machine tools and process pallets and pallet boxes. Thanks to its compact size, the robot can be positioned right in front of the machine tool, enabling in-depth intervention. “The expansion of the workspace and the increased mobility of the HORST1500 provide maximum flexibility in limited space and open up versatile use possibilities,” says Jens Riegger, CEO of Fruitcore Robotics.
The HORST1500's small space requirements and ideal reach and load capacity ratio (up to 15 kg) make positioning, translating and maintaining industrial robots much easier. With protection rating IP54, the HORST1500 is extremely robust and is ideal for use in demanding and harsh environments without additional protection.
Series production of the HORST1500 is scheduled to begin in July 2024 and will also include integration of the robot into a machine tending solution kit. This pre-configured automation module from Fruitcore Robotics is ready to use and features all standard industry interfaces. Another solution kit for palletizing applications with the HORST1500 will be released in the fall.
75% faster cycle time
With robot kinematics optimized through machine learning, HORST1500 not only optimizes your workspace but also significantly improves performance. The new generation of digital robots is characterized by high robot dynamics with high axial accelerations in the nominal load range.
The HORST1500 achieves up to 75% faster cycle times compared to the HORST1400, which is no longer available with the introduction of the HORST1500. Shortening processing times for individual work steps significantly improves productivity. In mid-2024, all HORST models will receive a speed update that will reduce cycle times by up to 30% through position-dependent acceleration.
Innovative features of the new generation of digital robots
“With the HORST1500, we present ‘Made in Germany’ industrial robots that reflect the high level of technical expertise and innovation for which Germany is known. Our portfolio, including the HORST1500, was developed entirely in Germany and manufactured at our production facility in Villingen,” says Patrick Heimburger.
The HORST1500 is a core part of Fruitcore Robotics' Digital Robotics Platform, a broad range of products and services from project planning to ongoing operations. This holistic approach allows Fruitcore robotics to enable businesses to automate with high efficiency and low lifetime costs from a single source. “Our focus is not only on innovative technologies, but above all on securing the future of the enterprise while remaining flexible and cost-effective,” emphasizes Jens Riegger.
Fruitcore Robotics is already setting groundbreaking standards in this field through its developments. The new generation of digital robots offers the performance for highly cost-effective processes. The Konstanz-based company's robotic technology is inexpensive to purchase and maintain and features a transmission life of up to four times longer than standard transmissions. Customers also benefit from a six-year warranty on the drivetrain.
Flexibility through AI-enabled control software
AI-enabled control software horstOS solves another key challenge in automation: flexibility. An example of this is machine assembly, especially in changing market conditions. Even non-expert users can set up a new order in less than 60 minutes, significantly increasing flexibility and reducing costs.
Fruitcore Robotics' solution kits are available within 24 hours. This is possible because users receive a CE-compliant solution kit that is already mechanically and electrically pre-assembled. On the software side, the entire process flow is already pre-programmed into horstOS. Users can set up applications and centrally manage all components involved in the process through a single point of control. The entire process is connected to AI Copilot, providing contextual support and making your work much easier.
“Our vision is to give businesses and people the time to secure their future. With HORST1500 and the next generation of digital robots, we have taken a big step towards this big goal. Never before have powerful industrial robots been this easy to use. These developments are critical for companies that rely on efficiency and innovation to survive in a dynamic market environment,” says Riegger.
