BC's point-of-care HIV testing program has been operated by the BC Center for Disease Control and Prevention (BCCDC) since 2011. This program was established to increase access to HIV testing in BC under the BC Ministry of Health's Hope for Health: policy. AIDS-Free Generation regional strategy. This program provides free on-site testing and supplies to approved BC health facilities.
BCCDC is currently conducting an evaluation of BC's point-of-care HIV testing program and is inviting providers to participate in online testing. inspection.
The purpose of the evaluation is to understand the current scope of HIV point-of-care testing, use of point-of-care testing across the state, implementation approaches used in the field, and outcomes and potential feasibility associated with point-of-care testing. Areas of growth or improvement in the program.
This survey targets the following service providers:
- Used HIV point-of-care testing for service users, patients or clients.
- Participated in provincial HIV field care program. or
- The possibility of using HIV point-of-care testing has been explored but has not been implemented (currently there is no need to perform point-of-care testing).
We'd like to hear from a wide range of service providers, including:
- People in clinical, community, or peer-based roles who are conducting, have performed, or are interested in HIV point-of-care testing.
- a person in a leadership or decision-making position
- People working in health authorities
- people working in laboratories;
- Academics, researchers;
- students; and
- Others interested in contributing to the evaluation of HIV point-of-care testing in BC.
The survey consists of multiple choice and open-ended questions and takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete. You will be given the option to save and continue later if necessary. Your response will be anonymous and there will be no contact information associated with your response. The survey will run until January 26, 2024.
Your contribution to the assessment will be aggregated with other assessment data collected in the assessment report. We expect to see some recommendations for state programs.
