A new day begins at the Traitor Castle. At breakfast, Anthony tries to connect with Diane, who is having none of it, and when Diane sends her faithful Sonya to her house, she tries to explain why she cheered. Ash's name appears before Harry and the group is shocked that the traitor chose Kyra, the 'loudest voice in the room'.
Claudia (wearing another lovely knitwear) confirms that Kyra has been murdered.
After breakfast, Paul reveals that Zak has been saying that Paul and Diane are mother and son, despite their size difference and genetic mismatch with Diane's dyed red hair. I then edited The Traitors Chair Cam*.
*Chair cams are magical in that they appear to exist in different parts of time and space. When playing a game, players seem to develop the ability to pause any ongoing activity and personally deliver self-commentary on the situation. . (Well, I say private. Private in the sense that millions of people can see what was said, not just the 20 or so people left at that moment.) When you're done, the game stops and everyone knows what just happened. Everyone does their own thing without knowing anything. What kind of magic is this?
Dianne reveals that Ross is her son. Ross 'saves the mother and son team from the castle. … ..bomb drop
Court the mother and son team at the castle. '
They are both clearly enjoying this. I wonder how long that secret will remain and how long it will be a burden.
The mission in this episode is to race for 20 minutes from the castle ruins towards the gold fields. During the race, players must find specific scarecrows.
This allows players like Tracy to sit up in a chair and say obvious things like:
‘The scarecrow is creepy’.
Each scarecrow has a key that can open a chest containing the next part of the map. It's not that simple, because this is a traitor. Each scarecrow holds an answer to a question and a key that may or may not open the chest. One of the first questions is 'Who is the most popular player?' – Answer; Of course, Bond villain Paul does. Once players find the correct match and drag the chosen scarecrow into the box, they work through the remaining clues until they reach the field.
Now there's a problem with this challenge. The catch is that it's not really explained when the players voted for each other or what the questions are, and we only see a portion of the contestants figuring out who voted for what to choose the correct scarecrow.
But it's a genius game because it gives players an understanding of what people think of them.
Question 2 seems to have the most impact.
'According to the players, who do you think is the biggest sheep?'
It's a toss-up between Brian and Mollie. Mollie is convinced it's her, but it's actually Brian and for some reason it gets on her nerves and sets Brian on the path to her paranoia and overthinking.
The rest of the game revolves around back-slapping and celebration, with Zak telling the team to leave the shield while he grabs it himself. Naughty boy Zak!
After the game, Ash begins working on the players, trying to show everyone that he is loyal, and his thoughts turn to the round table. Paul and Harry try to subtly steer the conversation, while Diane calls out to Ash. Zak tells Charlotte it's the Last Supper, and Miles tells Mr. Try no comment and Ash's name is mentioned again.
At the round table, Claudia asks if her doubts are growing, and Brian speaks first, mentioning the biggest vote. I'm still visibly upset by the events of that day. One by one, Zak, Brian, and Diane are blamed. Paul chose Jaz and when asked to defend herself, Jaz said she would not back down. He is not a traitor, so he does not feel the need to defend. Interesting strategy from Jaz. Then the inevitable happens where the player chooses Ash. As voting began, Brian called the room to give his opinion and suffered a very disturbing mental health episode. Just when everyone is starting to get a little grumpy – Claudia steps in and demands a vote…
result…
cliffhanger
Brian had 6 votes, Ash had 6 votes, and there was one vote left.
